Grant Hall: Exclusive Interview With The Author of Privacy Crisis

Because Grant Hall is such an authoritative figure when it comes to privacy living, we feel honored to have him agreeing to do an exclusive interview for the benefits of our visitors. The interview is short but straight to the point. We hope to increase our co-operation with Grant in the future in our bid to significantly raise awareness of identity theft and privacy living in among the community.

Note: No part of this interview may be published, copied or used on other website without the expressed permission of IdentityTheftProof.com.

Q1) Please provide us a brief background about yourself.

I grew up in a very traditional, American family with strong Christian values and work ethic and was given a great deal of responsibility at an early age. Following college and graduate school, I worked for both the government and a fortune 500 company prior to starting my own business. Currently, I manage a business investment/trading account and have an active role in promoting the book, PRIVACY CRISIS.

Q2) How did become so concern with identity theft/privacy?
I had made a good deal of money in the great bull market in stocks in the 1990's and had no asset protection plan in place. A greedy plaintiff filed a frivolous lawsuit against me and my attorney recommended a non-traditional ¡®defense¡¯ of disappearing in order to avoid the service of the summons. I did this and lived very privately for four years-all the while managing my business while using office managers and a personal computer. Privacy living and identity theft prevention are directly related and the book was spawned from my experiences and success as a privacy advocate.
Q3) In your experience, why do you think people become victims of identity theft? Is it because they never give too much thought to this crime?

Most people keep their personal and business lives out in the open and available to the public. Americans need to practice more discretion in their lives-both business and personal. I point this out and cite specific examples in the early sections of PRIVACY CRISIS

Surprisingly, most people are not alarmed at the identity theft problem and the current Privacy Crisis. That's because they have not been directly affected. When that happens, they become very aware of the problem. Our research shows most people want information about money and asset privacy. General privacy concerns rank second. Stalking protection is third while identity theft protection ranks fourth.

Q4) Have you ever had any problem convincing anyone they need identity theft protection? And why?
Generally, people don't take it seriously until they have their identity stolen. Sadly, when this happens, the average person loses about $2,500. Businesses lose $10,000 on average when an identity theft crime occurs and the business is the target. 49 cases of losses of 1 million dollars or more were reported in 2005. I'd say the average person does not have a clue about how to protect themselves. PRIVACY CRISIS was written to serve as a privacy reference book and an identity theft prevention guide.
Q5) There are many ways to protect oneself, what is at least one thing that an individual can do today to protect himself?

Bank and work anonymously. The government hates it when I teach people how to do this as they want to track everyone¡¯s money. Without a way to tap into a person¡¯s assets and cash and source of funds, an identity thief will be left without a way to seriously harm an individual. Lock up your credit bureau files. This is all explained in the Finances section of PRIVACY CRISIS.

Q6) Which, in your opinion, poses a greater threat, online or offline   ID theft?

I¡¯d say offline. Everyone has to live, travel, work and keep their money somewhere. Roughly 30% of households don¡¯t use computes-even in this mature information age. With a simple piece of software to hide your IP address, security software and e-mail discretion, one can avoid problems online. Everyday life is different. Not everyone knows how and when to use privacy tactics. It¡¯s simple, easy to implement and readily available in both the e-book and hardbound version of PRIVACY CRISIS found at our website at PrivacyCrisis.com.

Q7) What made you write the book "Privacy Crisis"?
My background in dealing with banks, financial institutions worldwide and my track record as a privacy advocate provided a base of knowledge. There are no other up to date books on establishing a comprehensive, privacy program. Everyone believes they live in a free country in America as they provide information that enable government and identity thieves with ways to trace their money and property. PRIVACY CRISIS is my contribution to solving these problems and I want to enable those people who want privacy to take back their freedom.
Q8) And how will this book help the readers?
Anyone who applies the principles in PRIVACY CRISIS can travel, bank, work and live anonymously while avoiding the leading fraud crime in America, identity theft.
Q9) Are the guides or tips in the book applicable to US residents only?
We've received orders world wide so foreigners are buying the book and applying the principles and concepts. While I've lived offshore and currently do business in other countries, I am most familiar with the U.S.A. and the government's current abuses of citizens' privacy. PRIVACY CRISIS was written based in large part on my experiences while living in America though foreign residents are benefiting from it as well. Many of the principles and concepts are applicable worldwide.

We thank Grant for taking time out of his busy schedule for this interview. You can find out more on how to better yourself and loved ones by simply reading his best selling book, Privacy Crisis downloadable at PrivacyCrisis.com.
